| News22/03/12 Great stuff coming soon! - On March 29th my first solo piece for saxophone will be performed at a concert in Oslo by saxophone player Gudrun Fristad! - In april we're having a NUMU-concert for the second time. NUMU stands for new music and the idea is to combine the forces of classical, jazz and electronic musicians to create something new. I will be performing with Alex Mørch on electronics and my saxophone piece will be performed again! - In july it's time for Aarhus International Jazzfestival, where I'll be performing with my jazz quartet three times. We're planning on going into the studio before that to record our first EP! - And hopefully the iOS-app that I've composed music for will also be released soon! Stay tuned for more news on that... 09/02/11 New Facebook page online I've recently made a new facebook page focusing on some of my more classically oriented works and music for films and apps, which is something I'll be working a lot on this year. Also, my latest piece for saxophone quartet in three movements, is available now in a demo version for streaming. It turned out rather nicely and I hope to have it performed and maybe recorded later this year - stay tuned. The page will be updated continuously with the latest news, releases and concert dates. Enjoy - and please press the "like" button if you, well...like it. Jonas Kappel @ Facebook 31/12/10 End of the year wrap up - and a sneak peek at 2011 Time to wrap it up for 2010 and look at what's on schedule for next year. 2010 has been a good year and hopefully 2011 will be even better! I've been working on a couple of different projects this year, most of which I will continue to develop next year - here's an overview: Look out for more songs by my rock band Skjult! We just recently released our debut album DE SY7 DØDSSYNDER and did a small tour of Aarhus and Copenhagen in support of that. Check out the album on iTunes and visit our Facebook and Myspace profiles for pics from the gigs and upcoming stuff. I've also been working on writing chamber music, and have finished a small suite of 3 movements for saxophone quartet, which turned out great and I'm looking forward to having it performed and recorded in 2011 - at least that's the plan, and things have a way of turning out for the better, so look out for this! I recently gave a solo-guitar performance, armed with just my guitar, and a bunch of pedals and toys. I plan on writing more music for solo-guitar and play more concerts in 2011. Hopefully I'll be going to Oslo in the spring and a play some double-gigs with the Norwegian impro duo Zarathustra. And last but not least, I'm working on some music for a couple of apps for iPhone and iPad, which is something I'm really excited about. The project is still in an early stage of development, but there will be more info as it progresses - stay tuned! That's it - happy new year folks! 07/09/10 Debut album by SKJULT out now!
